Preparing Young Women for Shared Decision-Making
The iPad app intervention was delivered before patients met with their doctor, preparing them to ask informed questions and actively participate in shared decision-making about their treatment. Youthful, colorful, and engaging, the app was designed to capture attention and make complex information accessible. The study took place in Southern California clinics serving primarily underinsured women (40% Latina) and featured a bilingual interface (English and Spanish) with three intervention arms.
